Home panel investigating Capitol riot plans to ask telecom corporations to protect Trump allies’ cellphone information

The Home choose committee investigating the lethal Capitol invasion is making ready to ask telecommunications firms to protect the cellphone information of some staunchly pro-Trump Republican lawmakers.

A number of sources told NBC News that the record of names to be submitted to the telecoms corporations — together with Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Florida’s Matt Gaetz and Mo Brooks of Alabama — remains to be evolving.

That record was first reported earlier Monday by CNN, citing sources who stated the members have been focused as a consequence of their hyperlinks to former President Donald Trump‘s “Cease the Steal” rally exterior the White Home on Jan. 6.

The opposite Republicans named within the record are Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Ohio’s Jim Jordan, Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar of Arizona, North Carolina’s Madison Cawthorn, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Jody Hice of Georgia and Pennsylvania’s Scott Perry.

A spokesman for the Jan. 6 choose committee declined to substantiate the reporting.
